Argentine pianist Uriel Pascucci will perform this solo classical piano concert presenting a series of masterpieces including contrasting Piano Sonatas by Mozart and Scriabin. A highlight is the homage to the French composer Claude Debussy on the centenary of his death. He was one of the most important figures of Impressionism, who also made a significant contribution to piano literature. He will also perform “El Puerto” a brilliant piece from “Iberia” by Albéniz. In addition, Messiaen’s mystical piece from the “Twenty contemplations on the infant Jesus” suite, a XXth Century jewel of the classical repertory. The concert ends with the transcendental “Dante Sonata” by Liszt, a work inspired by Dante Alighieri’s “Divine Comedy”, revealing the composer’s chaotic vision of the inferno.
