The National Directorate of Migration, an agency under the Ministry of National Security, announced that as of January 15, 2026, U.S. Permanent residency cards (Green Cards) will be accepted as sufficient documentation for entry into Argentina for "Tourist" category travelers holding ordinary passports from India, the Dominican Republic, and the People's Republic of China.
Travelers holding a valid ordinary passport from India or the Dominican Republic, along with a valid American B2, J, O, P (P1, P2, or P3), E or H-1B visa can enter Argentina for tourist purposes without an Argentine visa. Holders of other US visa types require a visa.
Travelers holding a valid ordinary passport from the People's Republic of China and a valid American B2, J, O, P (P1, P2, or P3), E or H-1B visa can enter Argentina for tourist purposes without an Argentine visa. Holders of other US visa types require a visa.
Required Documents and Procedure

A) Documents to be submitted to the Consular Office Documents can be submitted in person (Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 1 PM) or can be sent by courier to Embassy of Argentina, Consular Section, 1811 Q street NW, Washington DC, 20009. |

1. Fill out the application form (see below). All questions must be answered.

|
2. Copy of valid Passport (passport must be valid for a period of at least 6 months from the date of departure). Original must be submitted the day of the interview.

3. One recent passport type photograph.
|
|||||
|
4. Proof of your immigration status in the U.S. (for non-U.S. nationals): i.e., Alien Registration Card, Advance Parole Document, Employment Authorization Card, valid visa, valid forms IAP66, or I-20 (signed on the back by designated school official). Please provide a copy of the pertinent document.

5. Proof of funds: bank statements or pay stubs for the last three months.
|

|
6. Hotel reservation in Argentina (name and dates must match those of flight reservation). If you are visiting family members or friends, enclose an original letter of invitation certified by an Argentine Notary Public (“Escribano”) and by the “Colegio de Escribanos”. A copy of the DNI (Argentine ID) of the person extending the invitation is also required.

7. Itinerary: copy of the round trip flight reservation with the name of the visa applicant on it.

8. Proof of current occupation/activity: employment letter --download .DOC or .PDF--, etc. If you own a business, please attach a copy of the articles of incorporation or last tax return. If you are a student, please provide an original letter from your school or university.
