ARGENTINE MOVIES ON THURSDAYS: "The Distinguished Citizen"

 

During 2017, on the third Thursday of each month the Embassy of Argentina presented a movie series dedicated to award winning filmmakers. On the opening night of this series, Mariano Cohn and Gastón Duprat´s The Distinguished Citizen (in Spanish with English subtitles) was screened for free.

Storyline
After refusing prestigious awards from all over the world, Mr. Mantovani, a winner of a Nobel Prize in Literature, accepts an invitation to visit his hometown in Argentina, which has been the inspiration for all of his books. At the peak of his career, the Mayor of the city invites him to receive the title of “Distinguished Citizen”.
