On February 6, 2019 the Argentine Embassy presented the paintings, drawings and transparencies exhibition "Open to Interpretation" by Claudia Samper. Through the avian metaphor, she uses paintings, drawings and transparencies to explore the perception of human communication. looking for some clarity and coherence in the interpretation of mixed messages, she de-contextualize and arrange objects side-by-side in a humorous and playful tone.

"If someone had told me years ago that I was going to use birds as my subject matter, I would not have believed them, but here we are! Over the years, I have developed a connection with birds. This stems, I believe, from sharing the start of my day together as I sit on my patio with my morning coffee. I observe them carefully and have come to appreciate their apparent freedom, inclination to explore, early rising habits, delicate yet sturdy nests they build for their family, beautiful songs, and of course, their colorful plumage."

In As Mark Jenkins, art critic of The Washington Post wrote about her last exhibit at Touchstone Gallery, "Some of her renderings (...) are precise enough for a modern-day Audubon, but she mixes realistic creatures with cartoonish sketches and diagrams of origami avians. The juxtapositions are often playful (...). Although such surreal contrasts might elicit smiles, to Samper they also express the difficulty of processing contradictory information."
