On January 22, in cooperation with the IDB ArtLAC Gallery, the Embassy of the Argentine Republic hosted at its premises the second guided tour of the exhibition Unseen Threads: Weaving Connections Across Latin American and Caribbean Art (Argentina). The exhibition brings together 16 works by internationally recognized Argentine artists from the permanent collection of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
The guided tour, led by curators Julieta Maroni and Mariana Mejía, was attended by Argentine Ambassador Alec Oxenford and distinguished officials from the United States Government.
The curators presented the diverse aesthetics and styles of the exhibition, which features works by Rogelio Polesello, Carlos Alonso, Cristina Santander, Benito Quinquela Martín, Ana Eckel, Eduardo Stupía, and Antonio Seguí, among others.
The exhibition, which was inaugurated at the Embassy on October 2, 2025, with remarks by Ambassador Oxenford and IDB President Ilan Goldfajn, is part of a series of satellite exhibitions held at the embassies of Argentina, Chile, Mexico, and Uruguay. The selection of works aimed to highlight the aesthetic and cultural connections among artists from Latin America and the Caribbean that are represented in the IDB’s permanent art collection.
The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) inaugurated Unseen Threads: Weaving Connections Across Latin American and Caribbean Art on September 4 at its headquarters in Washington, D.C., after which the remaining exhibitions were opened at the embassies of the countries participating in this initiative.
