The Jean Maggi Foundation (Fundación Jean Maggi) is a private non-profit organization established in 2016 in Córdoba, Argentina by Juan Ignacio Maggi and Maria Victoria Milano, to help encourage movement and sports in children and young adults with physical disabilities by providing them with adapted wheelchairs and handcycles.
We will hear directly from one of its founders, Juan Maggi, about the work the Foundation is doing to help increase mobility in children and young adults with physical disabilities, by encouraging their participation in physical activities and sports through the provision of adapted wheelchairs and handcycles.
Juan´s personal experience inspires us all: in spite of the difficulties arising from having had polio from a very young age, he has achieved diverse personal goals, including being a high-performance athlete. Juan represented Argentina at the Vancouver Paralympic Games in 2010, crossed the Swiss Alps in a handcycle, and toured the Himalayas (an experience recorded by professional filmmakers, a short film which will be shown at the event on the Embassy).
