This body of works entitled “SPURS and LACE” was born from the cultural fusion that defines my identity and flows through my spiritual and cognitive life, unconciously or not.  I gather elements like lace and gauchos’s spurs to point out the power of the past, the value of the present, and the joy of new journeys and opportunities that the future will bring.  Colorful backgrounds provide a metallic luminosity, while intriguing tones want to allude to past and future centuries that surprised and will surprise us with darkness and light. The Embassy of Argentina showcased this exhibit from July 12th to August 7th of 2018.

About the Artist
Artist, educator and cofounder of Casa Argentina en Philadelphia Liliana was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, were she studied at the National Schools of Fine Arts Manuel Belgrano, Prilidiano Pueyrredón, and Ernesto de la Cárcova.  In Philadelphia she studied at Temple University, Tyler School of Art, and La Salle College.  Liliana graduated with honors at all schools receiving credentials in varied fields of the visual arts, education and languages; in Argentina as well as in USA.   Her paintings have been shown in more than two hundred exhibits, in North America, South America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Awarded Prominent Latino of Camden County, Liliana has been honored for a diversity of social and artistic accomplishments.  Her artworks can be found in numerous private and public collections, while her name has been recognized by the Ministry of Culture of Argentina and the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, DC, among other entities. 

Liliana LIFE  (Liliana Ines Friesel Elkouss) believes that the multiplicity of horizons afforded by a bilingual life offers a great opportunity to bridge cultures and make positive imprints in the world.  Active member of significant local, international and trans-cultural organizations, through the years she has been inspired to create and develop artistic and cultural venues.
