The Gallery at the Wharf presents “All About Color”, an exhibition featuring emerging artist Alexandra Arata. She was born in Cordoba, Argentina, and she has been living in Washington D.C. for 15 years. Arata celebrates life with colorful and authentic insights integrated into her techniques such as layered, multi-patterned paintings. The use of color is important and energizing. For this show, the walls will be layered with color and patterned paintings and wooden sculpture creating strong shadows. For example, Arata’s featured installation titled “Free Flow” combines her interest in the commercial arts and her degree in architecture to bring both organization and whimsy to her installation. "I'm drawn to the vibrancy and energy of Argentina and the places I have traveled. My style is grounded in tradition and balanced with modern sensibilities".
