On July 16th, 2019, The Argentine Embassy and the Argentine Permanent Mission to the OAS hosted the presentation of the photography book "The Spirits of the Museum", by its author, Andrés Wertheim, on the occasion of the opening of the exhibition "Museums: A Haunted Medium", which was held on July 17 at the Art Museum of the Americas (AMA).
In "The Spirits of the Museum", Andrés Wertheim explores the different visible planes through double exposures held in museums around the world. In the room of a museum, the author merges in consecutive obturations the inanimate characters of the works of art and the visitors, producing a dialogue between them in the final image. The past and the present intertwine for a moment in an oneiric dimension, testing our perception.
