The Embassy of Argentina, the Consulate General of Argentina in Chicago and Fotoweek DC presented “#MOVIMIENTO BABASONICOS” by Martín Bonetto, curated by Alfredo Ratinoff. Photographing the world of rock, both on stage and off, is what Martín Bonetto does best. His connection with the Babasónicos is about much more than just photographs, however. Since 1999, he has been with them at countless shows, interviews, backstage parties, recording sessions, nights out, and tours all over Argentina and Chile, Spain, France, and Mexico. “#MOVIMIENTO BABASONICOS” is an extension of the book Babasónicos, Photographs by Martín Bonetto, a visual journey with a soundtrack that begins when a young photographer discovers what will one day be his favorite band and ends as one of Latin America’s greatest ever rock groups is portrayed in a way that reaches far beyond their shows.
