“Momentum: Intersections in Sports”, is a photographic production inspired by Juegos Olímpicos de la Juventud 2018 by Argentine photographer Sergio Castiglione. The work shows each of the 32 sports selected for the competition through a particular point of view that expresses values, perceptions and attributes.

“Momentum…”develops a peculiar proposal of expression of values, perceptions and attributes of sport: impetus, speed, tension, challenge, goal. Without the physical presence of the athletes but with the quote of their personal thinking about key moment in their respective competitions, the spaces of each one of the Olympic disciplines are discovered in abstract images.

“Momentum…” is the amount of movement, a physical quantity at a given moment. It could be translated as the impetus or the impulse. The images and the reflections of the athletes, seek to transcend the quantitative elements of this concept and push to identify the decisive moment and precise place to reach the goal of each athlete.
