In this concert, vocalist Maryta de Humahuaca performed folkloric music from the Northwest of Argentina. Her songs reflect the spirit and the sounds of the region and portray its people through rhythms like baguala, zamba, chacarera, cueca.
Argentine Northwestern folk music comes from the Andes, in various forms influenced by indigenous roots. Rhythms such as baguala, zamba, chacarera, huayno among others, are usually played with Spanish guitars, drums and other kind of wind instruments.
