The Pan American Symphony Orchestra (PASO) presented "Fusion of the Americas - Jazz Meets Tango with Chaise Lounge," an evening of music of the Americas on February 18, 2018 at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts . From a Mexican work for cello and orchestra, "Lluvia en la Arena," with its catchy melody and tango finale (by Arturo Marquez), to Duke Ellington's symphonic jazz, "Martin," dedicated to Martin Luther King, Jr, Billy Strayhorn's "Isfahan," and works by Piazzolla. Chaise Lounge will perform songs by Cole Porter, Duke Ellington, and Cuban Ernesto Lecuona, as well as their own compositions. Featuring Dorotea Racz on cello, Chris Hemingway on soprano sax, Jason Solounias on piano, and the retro-jazzy Chaise Lounge.
