Join the Embassy of Argentina and the Association of Ibero-American Cultural Attachés (AACIA) in these three tango classes suitable for beginners or those who want to brush up on the basics. No partner is necessary.
These three weeks of introduction to Argentine tango will allow you to immerse yourself in this complex dance. Working with the classic figures and vocabulary, participants will learn the basics of tango technique, musicality and improvisation.
About the instructors
Masha and Aja have been serving the tango community in DC and around the world for 20 years as teachers, performers and event organizers. They offer tango instruction for dancers of all levels, backgrounds and identities.
Yves René encourages students to explore both tango roles to provide a rich understanding of the partner connection in tango. After teaching in Boston since 2015, he relocated to DC in 2020.
Important information.
- Participants may attend alone or as a couple.
- No dance experience is necessary.
- Bring shoes with leather soles.
